Who We Are
Jacob Bunde
Jacob has been a licensed Architect for over half his life. Before that, he was designing and building things on his family farm. Born and raised outside of Sioux Falls, Jacob has a passion for the outdoors and lives that by being a dedicated hunter.
Outpost reflects his design style by incorporating clean industrial materials and a minimalist, almost utilitarian style. Jacob is not one for frills and bows unless it is an archery bow.
Do not mistake any of that to mean Jacob compromises on quality. His experience in healthcare and industrial construction has exposed him to the best materials and the highest quality vendors and connected him with subcontractors that deliver.
Outpost reflects his mission to create an aesthetically pleasing product that enhances the lives of its users for many years to come.
While Jacob is a mountain of a man, standing at 6'7", don't let first impressions fool you into thinking he's anything but kind-hearted. He clears his head by throwing around dumbbells, so you'll find him at the gym once a day.
His philosophy believes cardio should be done outside, so Jacob fits it in by hiking over buttes and bluffs. Having the Black Hills National Forest as the backyard of Outpost Adventures will guarantee he logs a few miles shed hunting each year.
Kelly Bunde
It has always been in Kelly's heart to serve, connect, and foster community. Outpost is her outlet to fill those areas. Having grown up in South Dakota, Kelly enjoys the small-town feel of the state while loving the influx of culture and amenities seen in the area.
She gets excited learning about innovators, builders, and entrepreneurs, so you will frequently find her at StartUp Sioux Falls or reading Sioux Falls Business. A self-proclaimed 'people person' Kelly enjoys networking and relationship building.
Once you are in Kelly's network, she's known to be a cheerleader. Offering words of praise or a high five is second nature. This infectious energy has enabled Kelly to become well-connected in the community. If you haven't introduced yourself, reach out! You'll be met with a warm smile and an offer to help.
Kelly is a committed member at Ignite Hot Yoga, enjoys running on the Sioux Falls bike trails, and plans vacations around outdoor activities. She is active in her daughter's school district through volunteering on the Fun Run committee, serving lunch once a month, and a Parent Teacher Fellowship member.
Outpost Adventures is way to serve, connect, and build community. Kelly's extensive experience in doing that is what makes this project special.
Who We Serve
Outpost Adventures provides an escape from the ordinary. An alternative hospitality solution in the heart of the Black Hills National Forest, we serve those looking for an unforgettable experience in nature.
Outpost 1875 designs and manufactures prefabricated accessory dwelling units. The Outposts that guests stay in are the Hideaway Series and available for purchase.
